What is Vessosmin Film Coated Tablet 500mg used for?
It is a vascular protector (as it increases resistance in small blood vessels) and is a venous tonic ( as it increases venous tone). Vessosmin is active on the return vascular system by
reducing venous distensibility and venous stasis
normalizing capillary permeability and reinforces capillary resistance in the microcirculation.
It is used for the treatment of organic and functional chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limbs with the following symptoms:
Swollen legs
Pain
Nocturnal cramps
It is also used for the treatment of chronic hemorrhoids and acute hemorrhoidal attacks.
How much and how often should you use Vessosmin Film Coated Tablet 500mg?
For the usual dose in chronic conditions, take 2 tablets daily in two divided doses (morning and evening) at mealtimes.
In acute hemorrhoidal attacks, take 6 tablets daily (in 3 divided doses) for 3 to 4 days, then 4 tablets daily (in 2 divided doses).
When should you not take Vessosmin Film Coated Tablet 500mg?
Do not take Vessosmin if you are allergic to Diosmin, Hesperidin or any of the ingredients listed as excipients.
